About Our Product
OUR PRODUCT:
Act Now, Inc. designs it's product to help lead people to make a new commitment, to restore a lost commitment or to strengthen an existing commitment of faith in Jesus Christ. Some distinctive design aspects incorporated in Act Now product for achieving this goal: Most of the product (about 90%) includes scripture references along with the verses. Many of the items contain the simple gospel message of salvation. The most recent example of this is the NEW Emblem of Faith Cards.
Don Ebie's Inspirational Verses:
Don Ebie's Inspirational Verses speak directly to the heart on issues we all struggle with in our daily walk with the Lord. The responses we receive to our product demonstrate that we are accomplishing our stated purpose. Every week we receive cards and letters from individuals blessed by the message of Don's verses. The greatest demonstrations are letters from new believers who committed their life to Christ in response to the message contained in our product. THE NAIL
Without question, our most popular verse is "THE NAIL." Our desire is that "THE NAIL" verse will bless you as it has literally millions of others around the world. Our prayer is that God's anointing will continue to rest upon this verse to use it in leading people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
The Story Behind "THE NAIL" Verse In September 1992, Don received a call from a woman who had a verse on a card with an attached nail. She was looking for advice on how to market the card. One of Act Now's customers suggested she contact Don. They scheduled an appointment for October 4. The lady did not make the appointment. Don had her name and the name of the customer that referred her, but he did not have her address or phone number. Don contacted the customer to inquire about the referral and to find out how to contact the woman. As it turns out, the customer had not talked with or referred anyone to Don!
Don began to think about the idea of a nail card. He wondered what type of verse he would write about "THE NAIL." Later in the month of October, Don penned the popular "THE NAIL" verse.
Who was the woman that called? Was there a woman, or did God use an angel to spur Don's thinking about the nail. Perhaps it was an angel that gave him the idea of attaching a nail to a card containing a verse about "THE NAIL." Only eternity will reveal that.
What we do know is that God anointed "THE NAIL" verse and from the beginning used it to reach the lost. After writing the verse, Don gave a copy to his oldest son Greg. Greg, who is a pastor, was visiting a family in his congregation. He was fellowshipping at the kitchen table with the father of the family. The man was absent-mindedly playing with some nails that were lying on the table. Greg asked the man, "where did you get those nails? My dad needs rustic nails like these to put on a card with a verse he wrote."
Greg shared the verse with the man and his family. Before the week was over the man used the thoughts contained in the verse to explain to his mother how much God loves her. This helped lead her to salvation in Christ. The power of "THE NAIL" verse was already providing ministry! Praise God!
Several weeks later Don visited Greg at his office. He had the verse, he had the nail, but he didn't know how to fasten the nail to the card. They had tried many ways: taping it on the card, gluing it on the card and laminating it to the card. In talking about these unsuccessful attempts, Greg suggested putting two holes in the card and placing the nails through the holes. It would stay on that way, and the nail going through the holes would be symbolic of the nails that pierced and drove our Lord's hands to the cross.
